Faces and emotions of Podhostynsky pohar.

This time I wanted to accentuate the energy, the speed of the moves and the whirl.

I would like to say thank you to Mrs. Drahomira Kroupova and to Mrs. Jana Simcikovana for inviting me to Podhostynsky pohar for the 10th time. It was an absolutely fantastic day: Colourful, energizing and full of positive emotions.

This time I was attracted towards the warm-up carpet. Luckily Mr. Rezek covered the main carpet and the whole competition in a great detail and quality as he usually does. I went more for the mood I felt there. I hope you can feel it too.

I enjoyed the gala show at Brno Grand Prix very much. Firstly because the sidelines were not so crowded and secondly because some of the gymnast chose to dance without any apparatus. It gave them freedom

Was it you? Or was it her? It could be you. It was you, wasn't it? You practiced your routine so many times. You went through your warm-up, got prepared, visualized every move... Your coach said something to you and then they called your name. The music started.

90 gymnasts from 18 clubs, 9 countries and more than a thousand photographs from which I selected several hundreds. That was Chodov Cup 2019.  Can these numbers describe it? No, not at all. There were some interesting pieces performed by ZUŠ students and other participants at The Regional Show of Contemporary Dance Choreographies in Prostějov last weekend. I would love to name two of them: Rozhovory beze slov and V prostoru a čase. Both were very strong, consistent, nicely flowing and easy to relate to.Both were choreographed by Mrs. M. Jirmanová from ZUŠ Šumperk and I would like to use this opportunity to applaud her and her dancers.

Photography is mainly about light. It’s not just light intensity but many other light qualities that we – photographers – care for. The South Moravia Cup 2019 was my very first direct - or should I say first-camera ;) - experience in Rhythmic gymnastics photography. I was a bit anxious at first but the feeling soon evolved into a dream like one. It was like standing on the gymnastic carpet, a bit tense at the beginning and then entering a different state of mind, a different universe with the first steps once the music started.

I started with a  “dry land drill” but there was not much time for that as the competition commenced early on Sunday. Although I am not new to synchro I was quite amazed by some beautiful moves and very dynamic changes that were performed at the nationals. It was to be expected with the experienced swimmers like Alzbetka Dufkova and others but some of the less experienced swimmers from the age group category were pretty good too.

‘Per aspera ad astra‘, přečetl jsem si nad kolenem jedné soutěžící na Podhostýnském poháru 2019 a myslím, že to dobře popisuje úsilí všech účastníků i pořadatelů. Skrze obtíže ke hvězdám.Vždy se už dlouho dopředu těším na ten vesele pestrobarevný mumraj jedné z mála velkých mezinárodních soutěží, kde se setkávají zástupci různých asociací. A nikdy mě ještě nezklamal.

I enjoyed the time with you all at FINA Artistic Swimming World Series in Samorin - Slovakia very much.
